About Steve

Steve works as a freelance Music Director, Composer, Orchestrator and Musician.

Steve grew-up and was educated in South-East London. After having obtained Grade 8 in piano, and grades in several other instruments including Flute and Oboe, during his final year of schooling he also took courses in musical arrangement and composition at Goldsmith College, University of London.

Shortly after leaving college, he undertook the co-writing of his first musical, "Georgie", the story of an 'ordinary' man re-evaluating his life's worth in the face of death. This went on to receive three runs over the subsequent few years, produced by local companies in Greenwich and Eltham, South-East London.

From that time, he concentrated on writing popular music, some of which he currently performs with the function-band he joined some 25 years ago. More recently, however, he has returned to composing for musical theatre, and recently completed "Dracula: The Undead", an adaptation of Bram Stoker's classic novel, which has yet to be produced. He is currently working on two brand new musicals, while also working as a session and pit musician locally.

Steve regularly works as Music Director for theatre productions across the region, and is on the Musical Theatre faculty for one of the leading musical theatre further and higher education colleges.
